Description

The garden niche to the west of Franks Hall is a probable 19th-century garden ornament designed in an 18th-century style. It is located in the rear wall of a yellow brick Victorian garden shed, which is not of special interest. The niche serves as the endpoint of a view from the garden. It features a stone panel approximately 12 feet high, adorned with a cornice that includes a shield and cornucopia, pilasters, and a shell with the head of Neptune. There is also a vacant plinth intended for a statue.
