Description
The Tower is an 18th-century folly tower located in Westerham. It is a square structure with some classical details, although it is currently roofless and in a ruinous state. The tower features a projecting square entrance section on the south side and a full eight canted bay on the north. The masonry is made of galletted rubble in rough courses, with a plinth and a band at the first floor level. The building has two storeys and a basement, topped with a parapet.
The entrance includes a door and two square windows, both with keystones and lintels. The east and west walls each have a tall, round-arched window on the first floor and two round windows below; however, the left window on the west front is now just a gaping hole. There is a similar hole and traces of a door in the north bay. Inside, the splayed window reveals are lined with red brick, and there is some interior plasterwork present.
