Description

The Horns Public House is a late medieval hall house, significantly altered over time. It has a tiled roof, now half-hipped with two returned front gables. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is of red brick. A random stone plinth is visible. The building is two storeys high with an attic, and features irregular window placement. The windows are a mix of 19th-century and modern square-paned casements. A one-storey central projection has a hipped tiled roof. Inside, substantial timber framing is visible, including a 16th-century fireplace in the bar and a crown post in the attic. A timber-framed extension, likely of 16th or later date, incorporates old window frames with diagonal mullion holes, now used as studs.
