Description
65 The Quarries is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It is timber framed with rendered infilling and has a plain tile roof. The building consists of approximately three timber-framed bays and is two storeys high, featuring broadly spaced studding. There are arch braces towards each end of the first floor. The roof is half-hipped on the left side and gabled on the right. A multiple brick ridge stack is located at the right gable end. The windows are irregularly arranged and include three small two-light leaded casements. There is a boarded door to the left end of the central bay. To the right gable end, there is a short single-storey stone addition, and a rear wing extends to the left. The interior has not been inspected. The house was formerly known as "Cottage at Boughton Quarries next to the last item on the north-east, occupier Littlewood."
