Description

The monument of Margaret Avenell is a table tomb located about 2.5 metres north of the vestry of the Church of St. Nicholas. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and is constructed from stone. The tomb rests on a rectangular stone base and features a moulded plinth, a corniced lid, and moulded side panels. The north side of the tomb is dedicated to Margaret Avenell, who died in 1690, while the south side commemorates John Avenell, who died in 1704.
