Description
Thames House, dating to circa 1820, is a four-storey building stuccoed with a rusticated first floor. It has a parapet with a moulded eaves cornice. The original design included four sash windows with glazing bars, retaining cornices to the second-floor windows and cross braces. A stringcourse separates the first and second floors. A cast iron balcony is supported by four columns on the first floor. The building features a plain doorcase. The right-side elevation has a first-floor canted bay topped with a tent-shaped canopy. A modern one-storey conservatory has been added to the left side. Originally, the three figureheads in the grounds of Thames House were part of a group with the Royal Clarendon Hotel and 1-4 Royal Mews, but these figureheads were removed by January 2013.
