Description
No 1 High Street is a large house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It has three storeys and is constructed of brown brick. The building features a stone parapet and a cemented stringcourse above the ground floor. There are five sash windows with intact glazing bars and stone cills, although two of the windows are blank. The ground floor has round-headed windows arranged in arcading. A large porch with fluted Doric columns and a flat entablature leads to a wide doorway, which is accessed by four steps and features a large semi-circular fanlight above it. To the right, there is a one-storey extension that matches the main building's style and is dated 1899.
