Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of six houses, numbered 34 to 40, located on the south-east side of The Bayle in Folkestone. The buildings are three storeys high with a basement, and are colourwashed. They are topped by a parapet and a moulded eaves cornice. Each house has two sash windows on each upper floor, except for number 34, which has three windows on the first floor. Most of the original window glazing bars remain intact. A stringcourse runs between the ground and first floors. The doorcases have cornices and brackets. Numbers 26 to 40 form a group with The Battery, a statue in its grounds, and The Globe Inn.
