Description
The Palm Tree Inn is a former public house built in the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features painted brick construction and a plain tile roof. The building is double depth and has two storeys, with a flint plinth at the rear. The eaves cornice is dentilled brick, and the roof is hipped, with hips returning to the rear and two additional rear hips. There is a projecting stack with a rendered base and tile-hung flue on the left gable end, and a projecting painted brick stack on the right gable end, along with a rear stack towards the centre. The front has a regular two-window arrangement with slightly-recessed four-pane sashes, and similar windows on the ground floor, featuring splayed painted brick voussoirs. The central entrance has a ribbed door topped with a flat corniced and bracketed hood. The interior has not been inspected.
