Description

The former water tower, dated 1890, is a tall, square building of six storeys constructed from red brick with brick and stone buttresses. An octagonal staircase turret rises from the fourth storey to the roof, featuring arrow slit windows. A crenellated parapet tops the structure. The tower has one or two windows on each side. Ground floor openings are casements. The first and second floors each feature a single three-light sash window; that on the second floor is set within a Tudor arched head. The third floor similarly contains a single three-light sash window. Originally, the fourth floor had a round window, but this has been filled with brickwork to create a small fixed window.
