Description

The Church of St Leonard's is a Grade II* listed building with origins in the 12th, 17th, and 19th centuries. The nave, south aisle, and chancel arch are of Norman design. A red brick west tower, which has three stages and features long and short quoins, was added in 1684. In 1719, a large north aisle or transept was constructed at right angles to the nave, which includes galleries. The organ gallery, built in 1705 by the pilots of Deal, is supported by Tuscan columns. Inside, the church features box pews, a Norman pillar piscina, and an Early English sedilia.
