Description
The Former St Barts House, also known as the Wardens House, is located at No 17, St Barts Nursery on Dover Road. This building likely originated as a timber-framed structure in the late 15th century or early 16th century in the north-west corner, while the front that faces Dover Road is from the 18th century and underwent alterations in the 19th century. It is a two-storey building with four windows, constructed of red brick. The building features a parapet with ball caps at its corners, although the glazing bars are missing. Additionally, there are Victorian bays that have been added to the ground floor. The site is part of a group that includes Bartlemas and the complex of St Bartholomews Hospital.
