Description
The house, likely dating to the 16th century, is timber-framed and covered with roughcast plaster, featuring a plain tiled roof. It has two storeys and a hipped roof with a gablet at the right end, the roof stepping down to the right. Chimneys are located at the left end, left side, and centre right. The first floor has four sash windows and one central metal casement, while the ground floor has two sashes and three metal casements. A half-glazed door is set within a glazed porch in the centre right, and another half-glazed door is located in the left return. A catslide roof extends to the rear. The interior retains the full timber frame. Within the rear outshot, evidence suggests a continuous jetty. Original outer wall studding survives, along with a hollow chamfered mullioned window. The roof features clamped purlins. Inglenooks, now blocked, and internal doors of some age are also present. Remaining herring from the 18th century are found in the outshot. The right-hand section of the building probably represents the remains of a pre-16th century hall house.
