Description
Holt Street Farmhouse is a house from the 17th century that was altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick in irregular bond, with the upper storey rebuilt in brown brick using Flemish bond. The left return elevation is tile hung, and the house features a plain tiled roof. It has two storeys and an attic set on a plinth, with a brick dentil eaves cornice on a hipped roof that includes three hipped dormers and stacks at the left end, centre left, and right end. The windows are irregularly arranged, with five wooden casements on the first floor, alternating between three and two lights, and two segmentally headed wooden casements on the ground floor, along with a canted bay to the right. There is a half-glazed door located centrally to the right within a gabled porch. The tile hung side elevation and parts of the upper floor were rebuilt following bomb damage during World War II. Additionally, there is a contemporary wall made of red brick in irregular bond that projects from the centre left, standing about 3 feet 6 inches high and extending approximately 30 yards, which includes a small 20th-century wrought iron gate.
