Description

Forge Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century and was extended in 1712. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a basement, featuring a very high plinth, a cogged plat band, and a hipped roof with gablets and a stack at the rear. There is one glazing bar sash window on each floor, and an outshot to the right. The centre of the cottage has a projecting kneelered gabled wing that is one storey and has an attic. This wing features a segmental wooden casement window, a glazing bar sash window, and a half-glazed door on the right side with a flat hood above. A date stone in the gable end reads "W G 1712."
