Description

31 Fisher Street is an early 18th-century building with a red brick front, set over two storeys and an attic. It features a single window on the front elevation, complemented by a dormer window. The roof is slate-covered. The first-floor window is a twin sash with a cambered head lining. The ground floor shows evidence of a former shop front, now partially blocked with brick and covered with plaster, and containing a centrally placed sash window with intact glazing bars. A doorway is present, decorated with fluted pilasters and an entablature featuring a bolection moulded frieze. The south wall reveals a gable constructed of 2-inch brickwork dating back to the 16th century. The building forms part of a group with numbers 1 to 33 (odd) on Fisher Street and numbers 7 to 13 (odd) on Church Street, St Clement.
