Description

Liverpool House is an early to mid-19th century building on Liverpool Road. It is two storeys high and has a cement rendered exterior. The front elevation features eight sash windows with intact glazing bars, set within moulded architraves. The central three windows are arranged in a three-light canted bay, topped with a pediment. The doorcase on the left side has a cornice and console brackets, leading to a six-panelled door. A later tiled porch with two Tuscan columns has been added to the right side. According to reports, the building was the birthplace of Earl Stanhope, the historian.
