Description
Court Lodge is a timber-framed house that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with a front added in the 18th century. The building has two storeys and attics, constructed of red brick, and features a tiled roof with one dormer and a wooden eaves cornice. A brick stringcourse, which has been cemented, runs along the south front above the ground floor. There are three windows fitted with Venetian shutters. A 19th-century brick porch leads to an obtusely pointed 16th-century stone doorway, which has a contemporary iron-studded wooden door. At the east end of the house, there is a gable with a hood-mould above it. Inside, the house contains 16th-century ceiling beams and an open fireplace with a heavy wooden lintel. Additionally, there is a cellar beneath the house.
