Description

No 2 on New Street is a building dated 1781, although it was restored in the mid-19th century. It has three storeys and a basement, with a stuccoed exterior. The ground floor features two 19th-century sash windows with verticals only, and one blank window that is cambered. The entrance has a doorcase with an open pediment and pilasters, leading to a six-panelled door with six fielded panels, and there are two steps leading up to the street. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2, 3, 5, 6, and 6A.
