Description

This is a house, originally a late Norman hall house with a first floor hall. The northeast wall likely dates to around 1216, while the rest of the building was constructed in the 18th and 19th centuries and altered in the 20th century. The northeast wall is built of flint, stone, and brick and incorporates two early English pointed arch stone window surrounds with leaded lights, along with remnants of a blocked third window. Sections of old brickwork survive. The ground floor features a blocked cambered arch with red brick voussoirs. A 20th-century flat-roofed dormer and a ground-floor extension are located to the north. The south portion of the building is 18th-century and altered in the 20th century, featuring a painted Flemish bond brick ground floor and a random bond brick first floor, topped with a tiled roof. It has 20th-century fixed sash windows, a blocked-in carriage entrance, and a 20th-century door. The north portion is 19th-century and has painted Flemish bond brickwork, a slate roof, a 20th-century dormer with a casement window, and a 19th-century three-light cambered casement window below.
