Description

Water Lane House is an early 19th-century building located on the west side of Bowling Street, although it faces Delf Street. It is a two-story structure with a slated roof. The south and east elevations are tile-hung. The building has five box sash windows on the first floor. The ground floor has a small bay window with a glazed door, and a four-panel moulded door with the top panel forming a circular light. The door is flanked by semi-elliptical pilasters and has an entablature above it, with a small box sash window above. Other windows and French doors are fitted with shutters, although these have been modernized. Glazing bars are complete. The building’s architectural features include half-round pilasters and an entablature. Water Lane House forms a group with Bowling Cottage and numbers 3 to 7 (odd) along with numbers 1 to 5 (odd) in Vicarage Lane.
