Description
There are two chest tombs located about 3 and 10 metres south of Elmstone Church, dedicated to William and Edmund Gibbs. The tomb for William Gibbs, who died in 1763, features a moulded stone base and is constructed from brick, standing about 3 feet high with a stone top slab that has an inscription and the Gibbs Coat of Arms. The tomb for Edmund Gibbs, who died in 1727, is made of brick and is about 1 foot high, topped with stone and also bears an inscription along with the Gibbs Arms.
