Description
The Market Hall is a mid-19th century building located on the south side of Market Square. It is two storeys high, with the ground floor finished in stucco and the first floor in stock brick. The building features a parapet with recessed panels and a modillion cornice on the right side only. There are seven sash windows set in moulded surrounds, each topped with pediments. The façade includes ten plain pilasters, some of which have Composite capitals, and a stringcourse. The arcading consists of seven arches with keystones and three entrances, all of which have fanlights with glazing bars. Inside, there are two rows of six plain Tuscan columns. The Market Hall has group value with No 20, the Prince Regent Public House.
