Description
The Mount is an 18th-century building, originally named Mount Pleasant, located on Barn End Lane, Wilmington. It was built or rebuilt in the late 18th century by Duncan Campbell. The building comprises two parallel ranges. The original core is constructed of brown brick with red brick relieving arches over segmental-headed windows. The roof is tiled with a stone-coped parapet. Five segmental-headed windows are present, although the glazing bars have been lost. A wide porch provides access via a flight of 10 steps. Nineteenth-century extensions, also of brown brick and with slate roofs, were added to the east and west sides of the original structure.
