Description
Hawe Manor is a manor house dating to the 16th century. The rear elevation is particularly noteworthy, constructed of two storeys of red brick with four windows. It features a chimney breast topped with a ridged stack and a buttress. The front elevation is red brick on the ground floor, but the upper level has been rebuilt to imitate timbering with roughcast infilling. The ground floor contains casement windows, while the upper floor has sash windows. Historically, in the late 15th century, Hawe Manor served as the residence of Lord Chief Justice Fineux. Hawe Manor is situated close to its accompanying barn, forming a group.
