Description

Kemphall Farmhouse is an L-shaped building dating from the 15th century and later, with two storeys and four windows. It features a hipped tiled roof and casement windows. The entrance has a simple doorcase with a pedimented weatherhood. The south wing is timber-framed, likely from the 15th century, with the first floor of its west front close-studded and plaster infilling, while the first floor of the east front has red brick infilling. The ground floor has been rebuilt in red brick. The west wing, dating from the 18th century, is made of red brick with grey headers and is covered in ivy. This wing also has an external brick chimney stack with tumbling-in. The close-studded portion of the building is dated 1356.
