Description
Orchard House is an early 19th-century building of two to three storeys, originally stuccoed. The ground floor is partly rusticated. The roof is hipped and covered in slate. The front facade features two casement windows with Italianate architraves, which are cambered on the first floor and have keystones. On the ground floor, there is one sash window and an elaborate doorcase with a curved stone pediment featuring floral decorations and an urn. Elaborate console brackets with fishscale and shell decorations support the pediment, and the doorcase has a moulded architrave and a cartouche bearing the inscription "Orchard House" within a shield, with a putto’s head below. The door is a six-panelled affair. A later extension to the side has two windows, one of which is a three-light bay, both with Italianate architraves decorated with floral friezes and swag mouldings. The building has a plinth.
