Description
No. 72 St Dunstan's Street is a 16th-century timber-framed house that was refaced in the 18th century. The only visible sign of its earlier construction is the overhang of the second floor. The building stands three storeys tall and is now covered in painted brick. The original gables have been changed to hips, and there is a bracketed eaves cornice above the second floor. The house features three sash windows, except on the second floor, where there are two bay windows on the ground and first floors, both retaining their glazing bars. The entrance has a well-crafted doorcase with pilasters and a pediment supported by consoles, a semi-circular fanlight, and a six-panel moulded door. There is also a plinth. Nos. 67 to 81 St Dunstan's Street form a group with this building.
