Description

The barn at Whiteacre Farm is a late 16th-century structure that was re-raftered in the 19th century. It features an oak-framed design with three bays, clad in weatherboarding and supported by a 19th-century knapped flint plinth. To the north, there is a lean-to made of knapped flint with brick quoins. The roof is half-hipped, originally thatched but now mostly covered in corrugated iron, with parts of the west side and the central porched cart entrance and lean-to finished in peg tiles. Inside, the barn has a clasped collar purlin roof with wind braces, face halved passing braces in the aisled framing, and jowled posts.
