Description
The Church of St Nicholas, located on Thanington Road, is a Grade II* listed building. It is constructed from flint with stone dressings and features a tiled roof. The church consists of a chancel, nave, south transept, and a tower, replacing what would have been a north transept. The chancel is of Norman origin, while the rest of the church dates from the 13th century and was restored in 1846 by the architect William Butterfield. Inside, there is an early 14th-century piscina. The churchyard is notable for its 18th-century headstones, which include skull and cherub motifs, as well as table tombs and oval bodystones.
