Description

River Hall is a late mediaeval hall house that was altered and refaced in the 18th century. It has an L-shaped layout. The exterior is primarily red brick, with the first floor of the west wing tile-hung. The roof is tiled, featuring four gabled dormers. A small square wooden bell turret rises above the roof, topped with an ogee-shaped lead cupola and a weather vane. Four sash windows with original glazing bars are present. The door is set within a doorcase featuring a flat hood supported by brackets, and it has six fielded panels.

Inside, the house retains a dragon beam and a crown post roof. There are partitions on either side of the hall, and an early 18th-century kitchen containing a spit rack.
