Description
Island Farmhouse is a 15th-century timber-framed building with close-studded construction and plaster infilling. The first floor overhangs on three sides, supported by a moulded bressumer and clad with tiles that curve outwards at their base. The steeply pitched hipped roof is covered in tiles and features sprocket eaves. Three casement windows with diamond-shaped leaded panes are visible. A large oriel window, two tiers of six lights with wooden mullions and transoms, is situated on the ground floor, and is sheltered by a cove. An iron-studded door provides access. At the rear (east-facing side), half of the facade is covered by a pentice roof, while the remainder of the first floor is clad in weatherboards.
