Description
The Star Inn is a public house located on East Hill, dating from between 1830 and 1840. It is two storeys high and has a stuccoed front with a stepped parapet and a string course. The upper floor features two sash windows with intact glazing bars, set within moulded architrave surrounds. The ground floor has a large three-light window with an architrave above it. Flanking this window are two round-headed doorways, each with pilasters and a semi-circular fanlight. A projecting iron bracket with a gilded star hangs above the entrance. At the rear of the building is an 18th-century house with an old tiled roof and two hipped dormers. The Star Inn is part of a group that includes No 22, the garden wall to the west of No 22, and Nos 24 to 30 (even).
