Description

The Holders is an early 19th-century building located on the south-east side of The Street in Great Chart. It is two storeys high and constructed of red brick, topped with a hipped tiled roof that features an eaves cornice. The front has three sash windows with intact glazing bars. The entrance is framed by a doorcase with a moulded architrave surround, a projecting cornice above, a rectangular fanlight, and a door made up of six moulded panels. There is a later 19th-century addition to the south-east. Adjacent to The Holders is No 3, which dates from the 18th century. This building is also two storeys, with a red brick ground floor and tile-hung upper storey, and has a hipped tiled roof. It features two casement windows and a doorcase with a flat hood above.
