Description
No 48 on High Street is a timber-framed building dating from the early 18th century. It is two storeys high and features a combination of stucco and painted brick on its exterior. The roof is tiled and includes three dormers. The building has a modillion eaves cornice, although this detail is absent on No 48. There are four windows in total; two are obscured by modern shop front fascias, while the remaining windows are sashes with vertical bars. The rear of the building has a partly hipped roof and is covered in tile hanging, with some curved tiles present. No 48 is part of a group with Nos 34 to 54, and Nos 34 to 44 are noted for their local interest.
