Description
The Old House is a building with a core dating back to the 14th century, although its exterior is a timber-framed and close-studded structure from the 15th century, featuring plaster infilling. The south-west front has been weatherboarded in the 19th century. The building leans slightly to the north-east. The first floor, which faces the road, overhangs on a moulded bressumer supported by brackets. Above this, there is a weatherboarded gable that also overhangs and contains an attic window. On the ground floor, there is a bay with a window that has two tiers of seven lights, featuring wooden mullions and transoms. A similar oriel window projects from the first floor on three brackets, with a small three-light window on each side. The north-east elevation has curved braces. The building has two storeys and attics, with three windows facing south-west and two windows facing north-east, topped by a tiled roof.
