Description

This is a two-storey corner building at the junction of Charing High Street and Ashford Road, known as Nos 18 and 18A. Dating from the 18th century, it is constructed of painted brick with a hipped tiled roof and an eaves cornice. A stringcourse runs along the facade. The front facing High Street has three sash windows with intact glazing bars, and one window space. The corner has a three-light bay window, whilst the Ashford Road frontage incorporates two three-light sashes and another window space. A fire plaque is visible. Each front features a doorcase with a moulded architrave surround and a projecting cornice above. A modern shop-front occupies the corner angle. The doorcase on Ashford Road has lozenge decorations to its frieze. The building is set upon a plinth.
