Description
East Hill House, built in 1715, is a Grade II* listed building located on the north side of East Hill. This 18th-century structure features three storeys of red brick and a hipped roof with a wooden bracket eaves cornice. The façade includes five sash windows with intact glazing bars. Prominently, the first floor has a Venetian window adorned with a moulded frieze and pointed divisions at the center head. Above this window is a distinctive circular window with divisions resembling a Catherine wheel. The entrance boasts a wide doorcase set up steps, flanked by pilasters and topped with a large pediment. It includes a long rectangular fanlight and a four-panel moulded door, with narrow panelled strips on either side within the pilasters. The side elevations are tile-hung. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase featuring three balusters on each tread.
