Description

Tilden Baptist Chapel, dated 1892, is a rebuilding of an earlier chapel originally built in 1726. The inscription notes that it was a gift from James Tilden of High Halden in Kent, Yeoman. The chapel is a single-storey structure made of red brick with a gable end. It features a gabled porch that bears the inscription and brick pilasters that extend the full height of the building. There is a baptistery with a tiled roof. The chapel is included for its historical interest. The cemetery associated with the chapel contains several 18th-century table tombs, double headstones, and headstones decorated with cherub or skull motifs.
