Description
Matthew Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century additions. It is timber framed and covered in red brick and tile hanging, topped with a plain tile roof. On the right side, there is a single-storey section with a gable and a projecting offset end stack, along with a stalk on the left. The left side features a projecting two-storey cross-wing with a hip and gablet at the front, and an exposed corner post of framing. The windows are arranged irregularly, with one wood casement on the first floor of the wing and two wood casements on the ground floor. There is also a 20th-century two-storey wing to the left, made of red brick and tile hanging, with a plain tile hip, one window, and French doors; this addition is noted as having no special interest.
