Description
The Roman Catholic Chapel, originally part of Calehill Mansion, dates from the 19th century and is the only remaining wing of the former mansion, which was originally built in the 18th century. The rest of the mansion was demolished in 1954. This chapel served as the family chapel for the Darell family. It is constructed of red brick and has two storeys. The hipped slate roof features a square brick tower with a modillion cornice and a square wooden cupola topped with a weather vane. The building has a modillion eaves cornice and three intact sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor includes three round-headed sash windows. To the left, there is a one-storey brick section with a round-headed entrance, which was originally connected to Calehill House.
