Description

The ruins of the original Calehill House are located in Little Chart, within the estate that belonged to the Darell family from 1410 until the 20th century. The original house was built by Sir John Darell, who died in 1438. The ruins are constructed of stone rubble and feature a 15th-century window with two cinquefoil-headed lights. In the 18th century, another house was built by Philip Darell to the south-east of the original, but this later structure has since been demolished, leading to the older building's decline into ruins.
