Description

Number 49 on High Street is a timber-framed house dating from the 15th to 16th century. It has two storeys, with the first floor featuring close-studding and plaster infill, while the ground floor is made of red brick. The roof is hipped and tiled, with one hipped dormer. On the first floor, there are two modern casement windows with leaded lights, and the ground floor has a later shopfront. The original window opening on the left side of the first floor is now blocked. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the south side of High Street, ranging from numbers 17 to 57.
