Description

The barn in the grounds of Smallhythe Place, dating from 1715, is located on the east side of Smallhythe Road. This single-storey structure is timber-framed and plastered, featuring a half-hipped thatched roof with a weatherboarded gable. After the death of actress Ellen Terry, the barn was converted into a theatre by Edith Craig. Smallhythe Place and the barn are considered a group.
