Description
Pix's Cottages, formerly known as Pix's Farmhouse, is a 16th century, two-storey timber-framed building. The structure features timber framing with plaster infilling, and some close-studding is exposed on the south wall, although most of the building is now covered in tile hanging. The west front displays three later 16th century gables, each with carved bressumers beneath, and the outer gables oversail with the initials 'T M M W'. The building has a tiled roof with a pentice that conceals the original back wall, which has a gable that rises to light the added scullery. There are three casement windows with small square leaded panes, and two 19th century gabled porches. A brick chimney breast is located on the south wall, and the interior features embattled beams.
