Description

The Doctor Wilks Memorial Hall, originally established as the Grammar School by Sir Norton Knatchbull in 1635, was relocated to another site in 1874. The building is constructed of red brick on a stone base and features a gable. It has a large window with a dripstone above it, and there is a recessed panel displaying the date 1635. The interior remains largely as originally designed, retaining its original fixtures. The hall is part of a group of items in the Churchyard, which includes Nos 51 to 61 (odd), 61A, 63 to 67 (odd), 67A, 69 to 71 (odd), 75, and the rear part of No 75 on High Street.
