Description
No 24 on St Thomas Street is a building dating from 1855, located on the west side. It is constructed of painted brick and features a band at the first floor level. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three windows that are sashes with glazing bars. A notable feature is the fine doorway, which is adorned with engaged Tuscan columns, a fluted frieze, and a moulded broken pediment above. The entrance includes a six-panel door with panelled reveals. The roof is covered with old tiles and has two gabled dormers. There are also cast iron railings present. Inside, the building contains a 12th-century two-bay vaulted undercroft. Additionally, there is a mid-19th-century south wing. All the listed buildings in St Thomas Street form a group.
