Description

The Debtors' Dining Hall, located at 12 Jewry Street, was built in 1833 by George Moneypenny as part of the Old Gaol. It originally served as a north angle pavilion and shares the same design and materials as the central part of the building. The hall features a large single first-floor window with a rusticated stone frame, key block, and hood. The ground floor has a modern shop front. The heavy cornice connects it visually with the nearby Congregational Church and other buildings, forming a cohesive group.
