Description

Dairy House, now an information centre, dates to the 18th century and was restored in the 20th century in two phases. The front walls are stuccoed, featuring a moulded and fluted band at first floor level, hoodmoulds over the ground-floor openings, and a plinth. The rear block is brick-built, with English bond on the ground floor and a different bond on the first floor; it includes some rubbed flat arches, cambered arches, and flush blue brickwork patterns. The roof is tiled and hipped at the front. The building consists of two parts: a larger, two-storey-and-attic rear block, and a lower, wider, and narrower front section in a Gothic style, with six windows arranged regularly. The ground-floor windows are deep sashes with Gothic glazing bars, one opening serving as a doorway. The upper floors have small, Gothic-style casements.
