Description

The walls enclosing the East Forecourt of Broadlands House were built in 1899 by C H Nisbett. These flanking walls curve inward to meet a central gateway. The outer sections consist of tall, outward-curving walls made of yellow brickwork, featuring panels separated by panelled buttresses and topped with a parapet that has terra-cotta ornamentation. The central gate-piers are tall and have ball finials, and they are connected to the outer walls by a zig-zag balustrade that matches the pattern of the parapet. These walls are included for their group value.
